More ways to view scheduling data
New By-Shift Daily Staffing View
The new By-Shift Daily staffing view gives you an additional level of scheduling
control with the same easy drag-and-drop scheduling that is our trademark. Immediately
see scheduling information in a perpetual calendar that lists shifts vertically
down the leftmost column, days across the top, and employees in each cell. The number
of days displayed can be 1, 2, 4, or 6 weeks, selectable from a drop-down menu.
To assign an employee to a particular shift, simply drag the employee name from
the Assignment Pane and drop it into the corresponding cell. As you are making shift
assignments, Snap Schedule alerts you of any conflicts and sums up total work hours,
employee head counts, and on-call counts for each day.
Track shift premium and on-call costs
Flexible compensation pay rules
Snap Schedule helps you control labor costs and keep track of shift premium and
on-call expenses for any reporting period as you are making employee work schedules.
You can specify any number of shift premium rules (policies) and associate them
with any shift. A shift premium pay can be a fixed amount per shift, a fixed amount
per hour, a percentage of the employee’s regular rate, or any combination of the
three. It can also be limited to any days of the week, is applicable to exempt and/or
non-exempt employees, and can be included in employee overtime calculations. Similarly,
the on call compensation can be a fixed amount per shift, a fixed amount per hour,
a percentage of the employee’s regular rate, or any combination of the three.
Foresee and avoid overtime costs
Accurate payroll projections
As you are making shift assignments, Snap Schedule automatically sums up employees’
work hours, calculates labor costs, and provides detailed cost reports so you know
instantly if your are on budget. The ability to foresee the overtime cost impact
while making a work schedule is essential to labor cost controls. You can specify
how overtime pay is computed for work hours in excess of: (a) certain hours per
workday, (b) certain hours per work period, or (c) a combination of both. Snap Schedule
supports all common work periods including the standard one-week and two-week periods;
semi-monthly, monthly, six-week periods; and the four-week period that is very popular
with public safety agencies such as police, law enforcement, corrections, and fire
protection.
Easy credential management
Reminders for training or certification expiration
Use Snap Schedule to keep track of employees’ certification, training, and re-certification
due dates. Snap Schedule will display an alert on the Schedule Outlook screen when
an employee’s skill/certification is within the specified number of days from expiration
or expired. Alternatively, you can use the new report named Employee Skill/Certification
Expiration List to get a list of employees' skills/certifications that are about
to expire or need to be renewed.
See at a glance, how many employees are working at any given time
New Employee Count Graph
The new Employee Count Graph in the Task View shows the total number of employees scheduled
for each time block on a selected date. You can use the Configure button to select
the tasks for inclusion in the employee count. To find the number of employees
assigned to a specific time block, hover the mouse over the line graph and the time
and count displayed on the right side will be automatically updated.
Publish work schedules by location
New Employee Work Hours by Location Report
This new report shows the employees assigned to each shift and their work hours,
grouped by location then by shift, over a specific reporting period. Use it in
multi-location scheduling to find out who works where, when, and for how many hours.
A Work Hours Breakdown stacked column graph, displaying total work hours for each location
is optionally shown at the end of the report.
